Biodynamic wine occupies an intermediate position. Biodynamic agriculture and winemaking are not defined under EU law, but biodynamic certification is issued by recognised third-party bodies — primarily Demeter International (operating in most EU member states through national Demeter organisations) and Biodyvin (a French association covering European biodynamic wine estates). Certified biodynamic wines can carry the Demeter or Biodyvin certification mark on their labels. Biodynamic certification typically requires underlying EU organic certification plus adherence to biodynamic practices — so biodynamic wine labels often carry both the EU organic leaf logo and the Demeter or Biodyvin mark.
EU Regulation 2018/848, which replaced the earlier Regulation 834/2007, is the framework regulation for organic production and labelling across all organic products including wine. From December 2023, EU wine labels must include:

The natural wine category operates without EU-mandated certification or labelling requirements. What it does have — strongly — is a set of community conventions around packaging that are well understood by producers, importers, sommeliers, and specialist wine buyers across EU markets.
The most recognised voluntary natural wine certification in EU markets is Vin Méthode Nature, managed by the French association of natural wine producers. Certification requires: organically or biodynamically grown grapes (certified), manual harvesting, spontaneous fermentation using only indigenous yeasts, and no sulfite additions during winemaking (with an option for a small addition at bottling for the "avec sulfites ajoutés" variant). Producers holding this certification may use the Vin Méthode Nature logo on their label — a voluntary mark that signals adherence to defined standards.
In the UK market (relevant for EU producers exporting post-Brexit), organisations including RAW Wine and various natural wine bar and retail buyer communities operate their own informal standards. These do not create EU labelling obligations but inform the community expectations that buyers in UK and EU markets use to evaluate natural wine credentials.
The natural wine community's packaging conventions have evolved around an aesthetic that signals authenticity, craft, and sustainability — often in deliberate contrast to conventional fine wine packaging norms:

Biodynamic wine is certified by two main bodies in EU markets: Demeter International (operating through national Demeter organisations in France, Germany, Italy, Austria, and other EU member states) and Biodyvin (a French association of around 130 wine estates across France and other European countries).

Standard EU wine bottle shapes — Bordeaux (straight sides, prominent shoulders), Burgundy (sloping shoulders, wider body), Alsace/Riesling (tall, narrow, flute-shaped), and Rhône (between Bordeaux and Burgundy) — are all used for organic and natural wine.
